Dr. Vorono graduated Cum Laude from Claremont Men’s College and received his DDS from the University of Southern California.  He was awarded an Army Health Professions Scholarship upon entering USC and following graduation entered active duty where he received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Madigan Army Medical Center.  Upon completion of training he became involved in various teaching positions rising to the position of Chief of Department of Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Program Director at Madigan Army Medical Center where he retired with the rank of Colonel.

Upon retirement from the service, Dr. Vorono entered private practice as a partner in Oral Surgical Associates in Tacoma.  He was an active member of the Maxillofacial Review Board at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital for many years performing various procedures for cleft lip and palate patients.  He is an Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington.  Dr. Vorono has been active in local and state activities serving as President of the Pierce County Dental Society and the Washington State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.  He was appointed to the Dental Quality Assurance Committee by the governor and served for eight years rising to the position of Chairman.

Dr. Vorono is a Life Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Diplomate of the National Board of Dental Anesthesia and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesia as well as a member of multiple local, state and national dental organizations.

Dr. Vorono and his wife, Mary, enjoy watching college and professional football, gardening, time with our dogs, Angel and Osbourne, and watching our granddaughters become young women.
